Terms
First Position is when both of your heals touch together and are turned out.

Second Position is when your feet are spread apart, almost a foot, with feet turned out.

Third Position is when one foot is some what infront of you and is in line with the opposite foot.

Fourth Position is when your feet are spread apart but are in line with each other.
|
Fifth Position is when your feet are in line with each other and the toes of each foot reaches the heel of the other.
|
Arabesque is when you balance on one leg and the other leg is behind you with a pointed foot.
|
Attitude is when you balance on one leg while the other leg is straight back and your knee is slightly bent.
|
Barre is something that dancers use to balance on. Usually used for ballet.
|
Adagio is any form of dance with slower music.
|
Fondue is when you lower your body by bending your knee. Usually moved slowly.
|
Glissade is a gliding step which turns into
two steps gliding across the floor. |
Degage is when you shift your weight from
one foot to the other. |
